I had the honor of serving as a guest author for a children’s read aloud at a Juneteenth Festival on June 13, 2026. This lively and well-attended event was sponsored by the Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center, located in my home town of Centreville, MD. I read my first book, Jamal and Me aloud and answered questions posed by both children and adults. The local newspaper, the Bay Times/Record Observer wrote a wonderful article. It was a pleasure to be part of this annual event.
All three of my books are part of the Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center children’s library.
